What is Ellagic Acid?
Ellagic acid is a dimeric derivative of gallic acid and a polyphenol dilactone. It exists not only in free form, but also in condensed form (such as ellagitannins, glycosides, etc.) in nature. It is a natural phenolic antioxidant found in many fruits and vegetables, including blackberries, raspberries, strawberries, cranberries, pecans, pomegranates, wolfberries and other plants.
