Ellagic Acid 98% CAS 476-66-4 Powder
What is Ellagic Acid?
Ellagic acid is a dimeric derivative of gallic acid and a polyphenol dilactone. It exists not only in free form, but also in condensed form (such as ellagitannins, glycosides, etc.) in nature. It is a natural phenolic antioxidant found in many fruits and vegetables, including blackberries, raspberries, strawberries, cranberries, pecans, pomegranates, wolfberries and other plants.
What are the benefits?
Ellagic acid is the most effective antioxidant discovered so far. It can effectively fight against the production and deepening of melanin. Compared with other traditional whitening ingredients, its magical antioxidant power has a unique dual effect:
First, ellagic acid can neutralize the copper in the cells, blocking the combination of copper ions and tyrosine, thereby affecting the production process of melanocytes, directly blocking the possibility of melanocytes forming melanin, and greatly reducing the chance of new spots;
Second, even if melanin has been formed, ellagic acid can neutralize the harmful free radicals produced when melanin is formed, inhibit its diffusion, regulate the oxidation reaction, neutralize the environment of melanocytes, and effectively inhibit the further deepening of melanin. At the same time, its natural polyphenols can effectively enhance the reduction ability of cells, while inhibiting the continued oxidation of melanin and fading spots.
Application direction
Food Industry: As a natural food additive, ellagic acid is used in the food industry as an antioxidant, preservative, and colorant. It can enhance the stability of food, extend its life, and provide additional nutritional value to food.
Cosmetics and Personal Care Products: Due to its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, ellagic acid is also widely used in cosmetics and personal care products. It is added to products such as skin care products, anti-aging products, and sunscreens to help protect the skin from free radical damage and promote skin health.
