    What is Polyglutamic Acid?

Polyglutamic acid (γ-PGA), also known as natto gum and polyglutamic acid, is a water-soluble, biodegradable, non-toxic biopolymer produced by microbial fermentation. γ-PGA polyglutamic acid is a sticky substance that was first discovered in "natto" - fermented beans.
Natto is a fermented soybean food. After fermentation, natto contains more vitamins (B2, B6, B12, E, K2) and more digestible proteins than soybeans themselves. In addition, natto also contains a variety of digestive enzymes and special polysaccharides (Levan) that are helpful to health, thrombus-decomposing enzymes (Nattokinase) and γ-polyglutamic acid (γ-PGA), etc., which have excellent effects on promoting health. In recent years, it has become quite popular to eat natto to improve health.

    What are the benefits

    1. Promote mineral absorption: Polyglutamic acid has the effect of promoting mineral absorption.
    2. Moisturizing effect: Polyglutamic acid has the effects of enhancing skin elasticity, improving skin smoothness, long-term moisturizing, and anti-wrinkle.
    3. Health care effect: Polyglutamic acid has the effect of beauty and can improve the ductility of the skin. When used in cosmetics, it can inhibit the production of melanin in the skin and achieve a whitening effect. It can also make the skin more efficient in absorbing various skin nutrients and maintain a healthy pH value for the skin.

    Applications

In the agricultural field, polyglutamic acid serves as a water-retaining agent, heavy metal ion adsorbent and drug carrier, which can significantly improve crop yield and quality and enhance crop stress resistance. Specific applications include:
Promote root development‌: Polyglutamic acid can form complexes with various metal ions in the soil, reduce nutrient loss, and enhance root absorption capacity‌.
‌Improve photosynthesis efficiency‌: Promote chlorophyll synthesis, increase photosynthesis efficiency, and accelerate crop growth‌.
‌Improve soil environment‌: Increase soil aggregate structure, improve water and fertilizer retention capacity, and promote the reproduction of beneficial microorganisms‌.
‌Enhance stress resistance‌: Enhance the stability of crop cell membranes and increase antioxidant enzyme activity under adverse conditions such as drought, salinity, pests and diseases.
‌Improve the quality of agricultural products‌: Improve the quality of agricultural products and increase market value‌.

In the food field, polyglutamic acid serves as a thickener, stabilizer and emulsifier and is widely used in food processing such as beverages, breads and pastries to improve the texture and taste of food.
In the chemical industry, polyglutamic acid is used in water treatment, oil field development and other fields. Its water absorption and water retention properties make it an ideal water-absorbent resin and thickener.
In the field of environmental protection, polyglutamic acid is used in heavy metal pollution control, soil remediation, etc. Its biodegradability and environmental friendliness make it a green and environmentally friendly material.
